The weather is wonderful year round. It has been described as Mediterranean in nature with mild winters. The general temperature being in the 70's is something to brag about. Sure, Hawaii might give us a run for our money, but where else can you possibly go snow skiing and sunbathing in the same day while being next to the second largest city in America?. Actually, Ventura County has six distinct microclimates ? more than any other county in the nation. In normal years, the average rainfall for the cities is about 15 inches. Even though Ventura County is not known for its snowfall, you can often find, each winter, a picturesque blanket of snow capping the Topa Topa mountain range. While Simi Valley has had, on average, 22 days of smog over the last seven years, most of the county only averages between one and four. Depending on where you live, you may only have to endure a couple of weeks per year with hot weather, ranging from the high 80's to low 90's in the coastal areas and the mid 90's to low 100's in the more inland areas. Sometimes we experience strong easterly winds known as the "Santa Ana's", but this is the extreme. And even though it may be regular each year, it is not common of the usually mild climate that the citizens of Ventura County enjoy. Request my Free Camarillo, Ventura and Oxnard Relocation Package.
